Shana King
Overview
Shana is a citizen of North Dakota’s Fort Berthold Reservation living in Minnesota. Shana currently works as a Community Outreach Advocate/Parent Mentor with the Indian Child Welfare Act Law Center in Minneapolis, where she provides support to American Indian families affected by the child protection system. Shana helped to imagine and create the organization’s current ICWA Advocacy Team Program. Today, Shana is actively involved in her community and holds seats on various boards for multiple organizations and programs in Minnesota, and nationwide. Shana is the recipient of the 2016 Casey Excellence for Children Award and the Unsung Hero Award in 2018.
